Cold Water Storage Tank Inspections and Cleans

Does your site have Cold Water Storage Tanks? Do they comply with current regulations?

Did you know that corrosion of galvanised water tanks can provide a food source for legionella bacteria?

Did you also know that biofilm in Cold Water Storage Tanks can provide a safe-haven for legionella bacteria to grow and proliferate?

As a site responsible person, if you're not sure of any systems that could pose potential risk from Legionella bacteria, it would be wise to have a full site specific Legionella Risk Assessment carried out.

Have you identified that you have Cold Water Storage Tanks onsite?

Do you have showers that can generate an aerosol?

Is your site high risk?

How can GES Water help you comply?

  • Carry out a full site specific Legionella Risk Assessment
  • Carry out 6 monthly temperature monitoring and inspection reports of all Cold Water Storage Tanks on your site
  • UKAS Accredited bacterial water sampling and analysis
  • Clean and Chlorination of domestic hot and cold water systems
  • Cold Water Storage Tank Replacement and Refurbishment
  • We can provide a survey to assess the possibility of converting tank stored water to a wholesome mains fed water supply

Tank fed water if not sized and installed correctly, can become stagnant and pose a significant risk if not monitored and maintained correctly. By putting into place a simple 6 monthly inspection, you significantly reduce the risk associated with Cold Water Storage Tanks and also comply with the HSE guidance

Is your tank insulated and does it have sufficient ventilation?

Did you know that there are higher risk individuals who are more susceptible to contracting Legionnaires Disease?

  • Immuno-suppressed individuals
  • Increasing Age, particularly above 50
  • Existing Respiratory Disease
  • Smokers, alcoholics and drug users
  • Individuals with long-term debilitating illnesses

Christmas is here;Time to call us!

Hello and Good Afternoon to you!

Ok so Christmas is looming and like everyone else, here at GES, we are working hard right up to Christmas Eve, trying to ensure you guys get all your Legionella Prevention requirements sorted ready for the new year.

A service we have been raving about of late is our Closed Heating Systems Analysis. At this time of year, we all put our heating on more often to take the chill out of the air and to keep warm. However,if you don't use your system during the summer months, there is a chance that it could be in a poor state. This can reduce efficiency and bump up your heating costs if left untreated.

Obviously we don't want that and are currently offering a FREE (yes something that's actually FREE) sample from your system to determine your requirements.

At a survey, we would test for the following:

  • Ph and Condutivity
  • Hardness
  • Inhibitor (Nitrite,Molybdate,Tannin)
  • Metals (Iron, Copper, Aluminium)
  • Total Dissolved Solids
  • Suspended Solids

This survey, along with the correct advice and guidance from ourselves, will increase efficiency and longevity of your system and will cut costs for you, the consumer.

Your home will feel a lot more cozy with money saved on heating bills.

So it's a no brainer really.Give us a call today on 0800 121 8808 to find out more about how we can save you money in the long run!

New Starter Spotlight!

We have a new starter here at GES; he goes by the name of Gary and he is one of our new administrators based down in our Head Office in Haddenham, Bucks. He hasn't been here long but is already working super hard to ensure that GES runs smoothly and customers are kept satisfied. Here is Gary's own introduction and backstory....

'Well I’m from Gravesend, Kent originally. I worked as a Trainee Tax assistant for a year, but the work and people were neither challenging nor interesting so I left. I had a mind to join the police force at the time so I started applying but after a slow intake I had to rethink my future a bit.
And I figured to get bit of a springboard I’d apply for university, and that’s what brought me to Buckinghamshire.

I started a Criminology course at Bucks New University and was working through a temp agency part time to help support myself, and through that I've done  everything from warehouse work to software development and quality assurance. During my 3rd year (oddly enough during exam times, but I've never been one for revision :P) I was given a contract for GES. I found the work to be a good challenge and the people really great and luckily Mags seems to like my work and with my course complete she offered me a place here. J

When I’m not at GES I enjoy reading, watching films, playing pool and the occasional hand or two of poker.'
Gary-Super Awesome Administrator

Welcome to the team Gary, its a pleasure to have you with us! :)

Tank Refurb a Success!

From time to time, here at GES Water, we find fantastic suppliers who will go above and beyond to meet our needs. The result is a great partnership where both parties get something out of it.

So, in our spotlight is Precolor.

We found them by chance as one of our engineers mentioned them when we were struggling to find a Northern Supplier of Cold Water Storage Tanks.

We used Precolor for installing new tank lids in a hotel in the Derbyshire Peak District. However, trouble struck when we realised the tank lids we had ordered from Precolor would be too big to fit through a door onsite that had been reduced in size.

We had to call up Precolor at very short notice as the tank lids were going to be too big to get in.  Undeterred, Precolor re-manufactured the lids in 3 pieces for us so our engineers could fit them properly.

The results of the work is below:

Precolor are always attentive with good customer service. We will continue to use them as a Northern Supplier for the foreseeable future.
Thanks guys, you really do a fab job!

GES Run Thame 10k for MacIntyre Charity

As you may have seen on our social media feeds over the past few months, we have been massively promoting support of GES staff for the Thame 10k run in aid of the MacIntyre charity.
Well, they came, they ran, they got sweaty, but they did it and ran with all their hearts.

Massive thanks and a job well done go out to GES staff members:
Mags Gibson
Debbie Jones
Mark David
Sam Alexander
Renato Passaro
and a special thanks to Mike Papworth; the owner of IT support company EAC Network Solutions, who ran with GES Water for the great cause.

Collectively, the guys and girls raised over £600 for MacIntyre, who provide support to children, young people and adults with a learning disability, including some of the most disabled people in society. MacIntyre's expert support and care can mean the difference between existing day-to-day and leading a fulfilling life.
Here are a few snaps from the day out.

Everyone at GES Water wish to say a massive thank you for the organisers of the event and those who donated in aid of MacIntyre.
Also well done to those fit and brave enough to run the Thame 10k! A Special Congratulations goes to Ren who finished first with a fab time of 57minutes!

Same again next year eh?
